An extensive review in this area has been given in this paper to show the latest development in some kinds of polymer fiber amplifiers such as dye\|doped polymer optical amplifier, rare\|earth doped polymer optical fiber amplifier, polymer optical fiber Raman amplifier and semiconducting polymer optical fiber amplifier, their principles and properties.
