1.in the Bible, the son of Isaac and Rebekah, who sold his birthright to his brother, Jacob
1.Then Esau, lifting up his eyes, saw the women and the children, and said, Who are these with you?
厄撒乌举目，看见女人和孩子，遂问说：“这些人是你的什么人？”
2.And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.
雅各就挨近他父亲以撒。以撒摸着他，说，声音是雅各的声音，手却是以扫的手。
3.Acting on the urgent advice of his mother, Jacob fled to Haran to stay with his Uncle Laban until Esau got over his anger.
雅各在母亲急迫地催促下，逃到哈兰去与他的母舅拉班同住，直至以扫息怒为止。
4.The boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the open country, while Jacob was a quiet man, staying among the tents.
两个孩子渐渐长大，以扫善于打猎，常在田野；雅各为人安静，常住在帐棚里。
5.And Esau said, Then keep some of my men with you. And he said, What need is there for that, if my lord is pleased with me?
以扫说、容我把跟随我的人留几个在你这里，雅各说、何必呢、只要在我主眼前蒙恩就是了。
6.After this, his brother came out, with his hand grasping Esau's heel; so he was named Jacob.
随后又生了以扫的兄弟，手抓住以扫的脚跟，因此给他起名叫雅各（就是抓住的意思）。
7.Moved by gratitude to God for his brother's forgiveness, Jacob said to Esau: To see your face is like seeing the face of God.
雅各得到哥哥的赦免，对神感激不已，于是对以扫说：「我见了你的面，如同见了神的面」。
8.Jacob's world was crumbling. He was on the run. His brother, Esau, had sworn to kill him for taking the blessing as firstborn.
雅各的世界正在崩溃，他在逃命，因为他窃取了兄长以扫的长子祝福，以扫誓言要杀他。
9.When Esau heard his father's words, he burst out with a loud and bitter cry and said to his father, "Bless me-me too, my father! "
以扫听了他父亲的话，就放声痛哭，说：“我父啊，求你也为我祝福！”
10.And Esau said, Let me now leave with thee some of the folk that are with me.
以扫说，容我把跟随我的人留几个在你这里。
